| Your Itinerary Monday From Calais through Belgium and into Germany, to arrive at our hotel in Cologne. |
| Tuesday A day to explore Cologne, we meet our guide to give us some history of this large city dominated by its magnificent cathedral beside the River Rhine. After our city tour the remainder of the day will be free to explore what is perhaps the most renowned of all Germany's Christmas Markets, the city has dozens of stalls on six sites, the most impressive being the one in the shadow of the Dom (cathedral). The old town, a short stroll away, has a more cosy market in the cobbled quare of the Alter Markt.' |
| Wednesday A full day excursion to Dusseldorf. On arrival we will meet our guide to familiarise ourselves with the city, with an Old Town beside the Rhine, this city has one of Germany's largest Christmas Markets. The guide will leave us after our tour, the rest of the day is at leisure to pick up enticing gifts such as ornate wooden carvings, gingerbread houses, mulled wine, and a wonderful festive atmosphere. |
| Thursday A full day tour, past the prosperous city of Bonn, to follow the scenic Rhine Valley, with its castles and vineyards, and visit the Christmas Market at the town of Koblenz, where the River Moselle flows into the Rhine at the German Corner Monument. |
| Friday Return to Calais and home. |
